Weeks 17 & 18

SO! I haven't emailed in two weeks I am SO sorry! Things get crazy on preparation day the week after you tell your parents you were emergency transferred from the city that is ranked 4th in crime ratings without an explanation! Haha, just to be extra clear, I am completely safe and I didn't get transferred for anything that has to do with my safety! Like I said, we aren't entirely sure why President Richards made the switch. We only know that he needed me in this area!

So, Mount Airy is just about the cutest little town you ever did see! I will have to take pictures for my email next week. Along with serving in the cutest little town I have the cutest little companion haha! Her name is Sister Jeppson and we hit it off really well! We are both a bunch of goobs so you can imagine I am having a lot of fun with her!

We are teaching 6 people as of right now. That is a big jump from Baltimore haha so it's weird getting used to studying for a new investigator almost every day.

Our first investigator is named Sarah and I can't think of her last name at the moment. She has been living with her boyfriend for almost 11 years and has two kids with him. They are such a cute little bunch! She started meeting with the sister missionaries almost a year ago. She was "just trying to be nice." Haha, many of us know how that often turns out. She LOVES the Book of Mormon! It is so marked up and she knows it very well! She wants to get baptized but hasn't been able to for a long time because her boyfriend DJ hasn't wanted to get married. We had an awesome lesson with her last week and left her with a promise that is too personal for this email. But it was inspired  Then, the next day, her boyfriend agreed to get married!!!! They are getting married in May and she will get baptized soon after that. Pray for for her, please!

We are also teaching a girl named E.V. who has dreadlocks and tattoos all over and five kids! She is so awesome!!! I will take a picture next time we see her she is also a goob! Anyway, she loves everything we teach and is fascinated by Joseph Smith. It's hard for her to come to church because of her kids and her crazy life as a single mom, but we are working on helping her! Pray for her, please!

We are also teaching Lisa who is the mother of Grace and the grandmother of Vinny! Lisa and Grace are our investigators and Vinny sits in (he's only 6). We taught him how to pray and it was so sweet! We asked him, "Vinny, when can you pray?" and he said, "Anytime!" So cute! They are having a hard time keeping commitments, but we are also working on helping them with that! Pray for them, please!

We are also teaching Dale and Maria. They are 7th day adventists. Our lessons with them are CRAZY! If anyone has any experience with this, please let me know! I'd love the input! We love them lots! Pray for them, please!

This area is so much fun and there is lots of work to do! The members are wonderful! I'll have to tell you more about them next week! For now, I love you all! Thank you for all your support and love and prayers! Keep it coming!!

Love,

Sister Lewis
